My name is Dave Navarro. You can consider me a "balanced based" trainer. I offer in-home training and specialize in fixing problem behaviors stemming from both ends of the leash.
Quality Pet Care
With 15 years of experience raising and handling dogs, I have learned a lot. Started by fostering dogs and working with shelters to help with dog obedience training and ready dogs for new homes. Then I went on to work at a boarding facility. During that time I started bathing dogs and slowly transitioned to grooming. I left and began grooming on my own and for various shops. During this time I encountered so much problematic behavior from the dogs I worked on. I worked mainly on large powerful breeds and double coated breeds. I always was intrigued by how their characteristics reflected their owners habits. I dove deeper into animal behavior and focused on the more difficult dogs to groom and handle. After years of learning how to better communicate with these animals and problem solve my own personal issues I decided to go further and hone my skills in dog training. Now I pride myself in being able to rehabilitate the bond between dog and handler.
Specialties
Aggression, fear, anxiety, and excitability are all taught to our dogs by human interaction, and sometimes the lack of. Dogs will learn regardless of what we as owners do. Both direct engagement and indirect engagement play roles in their abilities to survive and succeed. Now whether that success is in our best interest or our dogs, will depend on how our dog perceives our relationship. I am here to help guide new dog owners as they raise their pups to become the best companion they can be. I also am here for the late starters who need direction in order to better themselves and their dogs. Let's build communication, trust, respect. Let's gain clarity in our relationships with our dogs and ourselves alike. Only when we can accept our own faults, learn from the experiences, and change our ways will our dogs accept us as leaders. With dedication and drive to be better, both for ourselves and for our pets , we can achieve the impossible. There are exceptions to everything but there is more potential to your relationship with your dog than you may know. All you have to do is be open to change and willing to put in the work. Advanced Obedience
Use basic obedience in new and challenging environments and maintain focus. Learn more advanced commands like Heel. Work through stress and build confidence. (Tailored to individual needs)
Fear Rehabilitation
Learn to read your dog and understand what makes them fearful and insecure. Teach them to overcome the stress of everyday life in this scary world. Be the leader your dog needs.
Aggression Rehabilitation
Dig deeper into your relationship with your dog to figure out why your dog acts out and causes you both undue stress. Learn how to better communicate with your dog to prevent mishaps.
Puppy training
Learn how to be the role model your puppy needs to guide them in learning to be obedient, trusting, brave and respectful. Start as early as 8 weeks.
General Dog Behavioral Advice/People Training
Let's analyze your dog and the relationship you have with them. We will determine what it is that drives them to do whatever it is that made you look for a trainer. You will receive advice and guidance to resolve behaviors and fix your relationship. You must be willing to change if you want your dog to change.
